Kinky Boots at Stockton Globe – Because darling, sex is in the heel👠

We were lucky enough to catch the Kinky Boots UK Tour on its opening night at the incredible Stockton Globe – and what a night it was!

Before curtain up, we headed up to the iconic 1935 Bar – transformed into a glittering pre-show haven complete with red tinsel backdrops, sweet treats, and delicious canapés. There’s something magical about that theatre buzz – the hum of excitement, the sparkle of the crowd, and those delicious pre-show jitters!

And then... the show. THE SHOW. From the very first beat to the final bow, a grin never left our faces.

The cast were phenomenal – a tight-knit ensemble bursting with personality. Dan Partridge delivered a standout performance as Charlie Price, nailing that "accidental boss who's just about holding it together" energy with charm and heart. Courtney Bowman as Lauren brought a raw, funny, and completely relatable portrayal of a girl who’s just figuring it all out – and wow, that voice!

As a self-declared Strictly fan girl, I have to say – Johannes Radebe as Lola was the moment. From the instant he stepped on stage in that iconic red sequin fringe, the audience erupted. He brought sass, soul, and buckets of joy to Lola, with powerful vulnerability and a sprinkle of signature dance magic. A true star turn.

A huge shoutout to the Angels, too – serving up superstar vocals and slay-worthy choreography, and to Don, who brought some proper Northern grit to The Globe stage.

Kinky Boots is a celebration of acceptance, pride, and self-expression – all wrapped up in a high-kicking, heartwarming show (and those infamous boots). In today’s world, its message of inclusivity couldn’t feel more timely, or more welcome.

Because darling – sex is in the heel.

A huge thank you to Laura and the whole Stockton Globe team for looking after us so well.

Press visit* - but trust us, it’s so good we’re going twice!
